Installation and configuration the GDAL library in python and use it in PyCharm on Windows 10
AboutInstall GDAL library for python in Windows 10
Tested on:
- No installed any other python version
- Windows 10 x86-64
- Running with administrator permission
Check the no have any installed python2 or python3 interpreter. If somethings goes wrong check no install any GDAL version. Check the C:\Program files\ for python or GDAL. Check environment variable. Check no other anaconda version installer in control panel -> add/remove software.
Step 2:- Download and install anaconda:
https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual
Recommended only for user witch use anaconda.
- Download and install PyCharm community edition or professional edition:
https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/download/
Run anaconda navigator and install on base environment GDAL.
In version Python 3.8.3 is bug for install GDAL. Upgrade to version Python 3.8.5
using this command:
conda create --name py3.8.5 python=3.8.5
Add the new environment in PyCharm for project.
File -> Settings -> Project: [project name] -> Project interpreter -> Add -> Conda environment
Select New environment
Location: C:\Users\[user_name]\anaconda3\envs\[project_name]
Python version: 3.8 or newsed
Conda executable: C:\Users\[user_name]\anaconda3\Scripts\conda.exe
Create python file and check in python:
from osgeo import gdal
If you can use gdal it install correctly.
